Become a Part of the Bud To Bloom Team
Careers at Bud to Bloom Play Therapy
Meaningful work. Real support.
A team that truly gets it.
Working with children and families is deeply rewarding work. It’s also emotionally demanding work—and too many therapists are carrying it alone.
At Bud to Bloom, we believe therapists deserve the same compassion, support, and curiosity they offer to others every day.
We’re a play therapy practice in St. Louis focused exclusively on children, adolescents, and families. Our clinicians specialize in play therapy, trauma, attachment, and relational healing. We care deeply about clinical excellence, but we care just as deeply about the wellbeing of the people providing that care.
If you’re looking for a place where you can grow as a therapist without losing yourself in the process, we want to connect with you!
If you’re looking for a practice that blends autonomy, community, professional growth, and a joyful team, you may be exactly where you’re meant to be.
A Place Built for Therapists who Love Working with Kids
Bud to Bloom was created for clinicians who want to specialize in working with children and families. This means:
Access to play-based materials and resources
Play therapy modalities like Theraplay, Child-centered play therapy, and more
Team members who understand play therapy work
Support tailored specifically to the needs of child therapists
You won't have to figure this work out on your own here.
What Makes Bud to Bloom Different?
We Believe Support Prevents Burnout
We know therapists do their best work when they are supported and connected.
That’s why we intentionally provide:
Monthly consultations
Free licensure supervision
Quarterly internal learning opportunities
Team process groups
Access to online learning resources
A collaborative clinical environment
Ongoing mentorship and development
We’re deeply invested in helping our therapists continue growing—because children deserve clinicians who feel confident, supported, and equipped.
Manageable Caseloads Matter
We intentionally keep caseloads manageable so therapists can provide thoughtful, high-quality care without constantly feeling overwhelmed.
Our clinicians typically maintain:
Low billable minimum of 21 sessions per week for a full-time clinician
Caseloads capped at 28-30 clients
Space and time built in for documentation, collaboration, and clinical growth
We value sustainability, not burnout culture.
A Connected, Community-Centered Team
We’re a small, close-knit team of play therapists that genuinely enjoys being together. Because we’re smaller, we can also adapt quickly when therapists share needs or ideas. We care deeply about creating an environment where clinicians feel heard, valued, and supported as whole people—not just employees.
At Bud to Bloom, community matters internally, just as much as externally.

Private Practice with a Community-Centered Heart
Although we’re a private practice, our work remains deeply rooted in community.
Through partnerships and contracts across St. Louis, our clinicians are able to work with children and families who might not otherwise have access to specialized mental health services.
We partner with:
Schools and early childhood organizations like Cornerstone Center for Early Learning
Community agencies and non-profits like Almost Home and Guardian Angel Settlement
This creates opportunities for therapists to engage in both office-based and community-based work while staying connected to the mission that brought many of us into this field in the first place.
